The Isabella Stool by Ryan Frank
‘Strawboard’ is a sustainable formaldehyde-free material made entirely from compressed straw. The straw profile is then wrapped in 100% felted wool, making a more comfortable, tactile product, and also allowing for a broad range of earthy colours. from The Isabella Stool by Ryan Frank

Diode watch

LIP watches have been around for over 150 years but were unavailable in the United States until very recently. The company has reintroduced some of their most important models from a modern collection that was first unveiled 35 years ago. In the 1960s and 1970s, LIP enlisted a handful of creative architects and designers to design contemporary watches. Among them was the prolific Roger Tallon, who designed everything from high-speed French TGV trains to the 1964 Helicoid Staircase (part of the MoMa Design Collection). Tallon's LIP designs include the iconic Mach 2000 series. from Diode watch

Swoosh Pavilion at the Architectural Association

The Swoosh Pavilion is the 2008 AA Summer Pavilion built annually by the second and third year students of Intermediate Unit 2 tutored by Charles Walker and Martin Self. For the students who conceive, design and construct the pavilion it’s a phenomenological exercise, going from idea to design and finally realization. from Swoosh Pavilion at the Architectural Association

Voussoir Cloud by IwamotoScott

Voussoir Cloud’s design explores the coupling of potentially conflicting constructional logics – the pure compression of a vault with an ultra-light sheet material. Opening August 8, this installation will be fabricated by IwamotoScott in association with SCI-Arc students. from Voussoir Cloud by IwamotoScott
