I had a nasty experience with a table once. It was one o those cheap, plastic-topped jobs with the folding meta legs you lock in place with a little sliding clip on the struts It was weighted down with materials to be stuffed i binders (I was assembling course readers; I know, the peril of academia!), and one side suddenly came crashing down not two inches from my foot. Apparently the strut wasn' quite locked. Now, if the school had been using the Stru Table from Blu Dot, instead of that awful collapsible thing not only would this almost-disaster (and potential OSH claim) have been completely averted, but they would hav been right on the front lines of taste. (And the 90" mode would have been more than long enough for the purpose. Strut: stylish, quite functional, and substantially less likel to maim you than other tables. The 75" Strut table seat six; the 90" seats eight
