The Meridian lamp by Lights Up! is really more of lantern than a lamp; but it's really more of a Platonic idea of Lantern-ness than it is a lantern. The base is a brushed-nickel finish, but it almost vanishes when you consider i against the column of light that stretches above it. Th Meridian lamp looks more like a domesticated lightsabe than it does a regular lamp: pure light, tamed into a specifi bacillar shape for a specific use (although without the nift sound effects).
