Mark McKenna's Designer Emulation Kits (DEKs) shouldn't be news to any of our regular readers anymore, to those who don't know them yet: they are miniature lamp replicas from designers that created some of our favorite lighting fixtures.
The Designer Emulation Kit 4 takes the form of Castiglioni's Toio - Mark's favorite lamp. In Toio, Castiglioni combined a car headlight, fishing pole parts, and an industrial transformer in unequivocal style. This took guts in 1962. It also took courage for Flos to produce such a wonder. It is perhaps the most successful ready-made anywhere.
