Yo-yos have been around for a long time. The earliest yo-yo found is over 2500 years old. People have just been infatuated with yo-yos forever, probably because two thousand years ago there wasn't much to do. Really, picture Earth in the year 200 BC. With only 300 baud modems, there really wasn't anything good happening on the internet. So everyone sat around playing with what they had. And eventually someone turned terracotta and string into a yo-yo, and a fad was born.
