Disegno 3 Piece Tool Set

Disegno 3 Piece Tool Set

The realization of these hand-forged pieces began with a 500-year-old water-driven hammer that designer Marco Ferreri discovered when he was out for a walk. He was immediately intrigued by how the hammer was used by blacksmiths who turned old railroad tracks into 200 types of shovels and hoes. In collaboration with the blacksmiths, he then created his Disegno 3-Piece Tool Set (1999). Nicely over-scaled, the long tools have imperfections consistent with hand craftsmanship. A simple and sleek stainless steel stand holds the three accessories in place. Objects by designer Marco Ferreri are part of the permanent collections of MoMA, Israel Museum of Jerusalem and Fonds National d'Art Contemporain of Paris. Made in Italy.
