The heroes and heroines of gaming yesteryear were not the smooth, lifelike things they are today. They were blocky, simple, and sometimes it was difficult to tell if they were facing left or right. But their flaws didn't matter - they were still heroes. Time to create your own heroes, old school. And, while you're at it, animate them. That's right, draw a figure dot by dot and then animate the little dude (or dudette, as the case may be).
The Dot Creator is a great way to pass the time when you are supposed to be working. First step, draw frame one. Next step? If you guessed draw frame two, you are correct. Lucky thing, though, the Dot Creator will let you copy an entire frame, so you don't have to redraw the entire picture each time. Then frame three, then four, etc. Animate it and watch your hero run, or your spaceship blast off, or your fist give someone the middle finger. Not that we recommend the fist to middle finger animation; that would be rude (ok, it was the second one we did!) So have fun, remember your 8-bit roots, and animate your own little marvels . . . dot by dot.
