1951 – A wonderful year for design
This is the year that Emeco built at solid, utilitarian chair for the US government. Who knew that over 50 years later that same company would partner with one of today's best and brightest industrial designers to reincarnate this chair for today's modern aesthetic. That's just what Emeco and Adrian van Hooydonk of Mini - BMW DesignworksUSA did.
Bringing Emeco's traditional craftsmanship together with Adrian van Hooydonk's vision for modern seating has born a new collection of modern seating – 1951. The 1951 collection consists of a chair, a counter stool and a bar stool. These are the first Emeco product that combines new materials for the seat and back – technically molded ABS plastic, with classic aluminum construction. They are available in 5 fab colors.
