Francois Ghost Mirror - Small

Philippe Starck created his Francois Ghost Mirror (2005) for Kartell by combining modern materials with the inspiring colors of Venetian Murano glass. Available in two sizes (2.5' to 3.5' tall), the rectangular mirrors are surrounded with translucent polycarbonate frames that both reflect and absorb light. The result is intriguing mixture of depth and jewel-like brilliance, similar to cut crystal frames of the past. In 2006, the Francois Ghost Mirror was reinterpreted by 50 artists, including Ora Ito, Matali Crasset and Christophe Pillet. The artists donated their works of art to an auction and the proceeds went to a charity for children in need.
